The Energy & Water Academy (EWA) has announced the launch of Saudi Arabia’s first industry-integrated diploma in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, in partnership with DataVolt and Innovatics. The initiative supports the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Data and Artificial Intelligence.

Unveiled during the LEARN event in Riyadh, the diploma is fully accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and the Colleges of Excellence, with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) providing institutional backing. Participants will also receive up to 75% tuition support through the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) to encourage wider participation.

The program integrates academic study with practical industry projects, allowing trainees to gain hands-on experience in real-world AI applications. Each trainee begins with an employment contract, ensuring immediate engagement in professional projects from the start of the program.

Tariq Al-Shamrani, CEO of EWA, emphasized that the diploma extends the academy’s role in building national talent and empowering graduates to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. Rajit Nanda, CEO of DataVolt, highlighted the collaboration’s contribution to developing career pathways in AI and data-driven technologies, with graduates expected to become key enablers of the Kingdom’s AI-powered data infrastructure.

The initiative aligns with the region’s growing investment in artificial intelligence, projected to add over USD 320 billion to the Middle East’s economy by 2030. Saudi Arabia is expected to capture the largest share of this growth as it advances toward a knowledge-based, innovation-driven digital economy.

The first cohort of 100 trainees, including 50 women, will begin training in November 2025, with the academy planning to expand partnerships for future intakes.
