Saudi Arabia marked August 2026 with a series of international achievements and recognitions across artificial intelligence, sustainability, healthcare, aviation, education, technology and sports, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing global presence and ongoing transformation.
Among the key milestones, Saudi Arabia ranked among the world’s top 10 countries for private investment in artificial intelligence, according to the World Bank. The Kingdom also received international recognition for land restoration and sustainability, alongside the Best Host Country award for Formula E.
Saudi institutions strengthened their international standing across several sectors. 18 Saudi airports achieved Level 3 customer experience accreditation, while King Abdulaziz International Airport’s Terminal 1 secured LEED Gold certification. Saudi healthcare institutions also received new international memberships and accreditations, while SABIC earned recognition for research and development.
Saudi talent delivered notable results internationally, securing medals and awards in artificial intelligence, informatics, science, physics, chemistry, standards, athletics and weightlifting. Saudi Team Falcons also captured the Rocket League title at the 2026 Esports World Cup.
The Kingdom additionally secured 106 awards at the 2026 Stevie Awards for the Middle East and North Africa, further highlighting achievements across Saudi organisations and institutions.
Together, these milestones demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s continued advancement in innovation, human capital, sustainability and global competitiveness, supporting the Kingdom’s broader economic and social transformation.
