Saudi Arabia’s consumer spending increased 3.5% to SAR 13.37 billion ($3.57 billion) in the week ending 26 September 2026, with hospitality, recreation and lifestyle-related sectors recording strong growth.
Hotels were among the strongest performers, with spending rising 20.7%, while recreation increased 18.5%. Restaurants and cafés also recorded an 11.4% increase, reflecting growing demand for domestic leisure and hospitality experiences.
The growth comes as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its calendar of sporting, entertainment and tourism events, encouraging domestic travel and supporting activity across hotels, restaurants, recreation and related services.
Major cities outside Riyadh also recorded notable spending growth, including Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah, indicating broader consumer activity across the Kingdom.
With major events such as Riyadh Season contributing to tourism and entertainment demand, consumer spending is increasingly supporting Saudi Arabia’s wider non-oil economy and economic diversification ambitions under Vision 2030.
The latest figures highlight the expanding role of tourism, hospitality and entertainment in creating new opportunities for businesses and investors across the Kingdom.
