Saudi Arabia Promotes Responsible AI Governance at Geneva Dialogue.

Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to advancing responsible artificial intelligence governance during the Global Dialogue on AI Governance held in Geneva.

During the event, Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), held meetings with senior officials from the International Labour Organization, the World Bank, Germany’s Ministry for Digital Transformation,

and UNESCO to discuss international cooperation on AI governance and the ethical adoption of emerging technologies.

Discussions focused on strengthening global governance frameworks, managing AI-related risks, supporting innovation, and promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Al-Ghamdi highlighted Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in AI ethics, including the establishment of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics in Riyadh under the auspices of UNESCO. He also showcased the Kingdom’s governance frameworks, risk management tools, and accountability mechanisms designed to encourage responsible AI adoption.

During the meetings, Saudi Arabia invited international partners to participate in the Fourth Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from 14–17 September as part of the Kingdom’s Year of Artificial Intelligence.

The discussions reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration and position the Kingdom as a global leader in ethical and responsible artificial intelligence development.
